INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the fourth post in my Autism Events series. This is Part 2 of my coverage of the Anna Kennedy Autism Expo which took place at the Eastern Gateway Building, Brunel University. For those joining the series at this point the previous post are:
- Autism Events I: Norwich
- Autism Events II: Norwich part 2
- Autism Events III: Saturday in London Part 1
This post will cover the remainder of the stalls at the event and the first of the talks that I attended.
AROUND THE HALL
This is a story that will be told largely via photographs…

PAUL ISAACS TALK
Paul is autistic himself, and his talk was both informative and inspiring. Notice that as with the Autism Anglia event in Norwich this event gave autistic voices lots of opportunity to be heard. Here are some pictures from this talk.

Whoa, that’s awesome!
Thank you 🙂
It’s a shame I missed the event. It looked very interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing.
Yes it was.
Wow, very informative. It seems as though autism awareness/knowledge has rapidly been growing. (So wonderful!)
Yes it is definitely getting better. Many of us autistic people prefer not to talk in terms of ‘awareness’ but more in terms of ‘acceptance’, ‘understanding’, ‘appreciation’ and ‘respect’. Particularly on the far side of the atlantic where the phrase ‘autism awareness’ has definite negative connotations because of the organization with which it is associated. Thank you for following me here on aspi.blog 🙂
Hi Thomas! Thank you so much for your gracious explanation. I will be more aware of the preferred term.❤️
Thank you for sharing! I’m blown away by the scope of your offering, and will be mindful to think/talk in terms of acceptance vs awareness…thanks for this much-needed education, and for having the grace to see past the ignorance generated by “mainstream” socialization. 🙂
Thank you so much for your response both to my posts and some of the accompanying comments. Thank you also for chloosing to follow aspi.blog.
My privilege and pleasure…soooo nice to meet/connect with you! 🙂
You really are a true ambassador, Thomas. You take up important things so people understand! So well done.😊
Thank you so much 🙂
